- Goals: understanding of the business context, enterprise culture and individual's personality from the client’s perspective
- Techniques: interview sessions and questionnaires
- Outcome: setting common goals
Phase II – Observe and plan
- Duration: 4-6 weeks
- Goals: fully understanding of the day-to-day problems and challenges, and identifying missed opportunities and areas for improvement
- Techniques: AS IS analysis, artifact analysis, value stream mapping (VSM), measurement of Agile performance metrics, questionnaires
- Outcome: action roadmap and iteration plan for implementing agility
