Home office work – the new working place of the Agile methodology

The modern “working from home” methodologies need new approaches not only in the corporate business strategy, but also in the deviation of the roles in the projects.

The companies that had already implemented Agile in an office environment were among the first to realize the benefits of the methodology, when working from home became the new workplace in just one day. Thanks to this approach and the way of thinking it gives, the projects are developing on time and the results are more than good. Agile is not a stranger to the IT industry and more and more businesses are recognizing it as the next implementation objective.

COVID-19 turned the "home office" option from a social benefit into the only way for some structures to survive. In this situation, Agile sat comfortably next to the kitchen table and said, "Well, let's do it." This attitude proved to be the key to optimization of emergency processes. Daily stand-up and even retrospective meetings became conference calls with headphones and cameras, which in some cases led to more listening to each other than ever before.

Of course, the online connection cannot replace a live contact, but it created a virtual bridge to cross along with fear to the new normal, without knowing how long this will take.

In Agile there is also planning, deadlines that should be met even in crisis. Some managers did not believe their employees would accept working from home as responsibly as from the office, they thought their teams would be distracted, but the opposite happened. It turned out that especially in IT, nothing fatal changed in the "home office" environment, just some companies were more prepared than others for this type of scenario.

Agile brought stability and peace, because his DNA is designed to be flexible, to adapt, to look from a point of view that is even insane, to be the best option.

COVID-19 changed the planning direction, but Agile was there to navigate the projects leading to a successful implementation.
